OpinionScope is an independent website operated in New Zealand. The site owner is responsible for the information collected here and handles privacy enquiries. Contact the owner and privacy officer.
Forms and launch-list requests
We collect the email address, selected interest or contact topic, optional enquiry and consent you submit, together with the submission date and a record reference. We use these details only to handle your request or contact you about the interest you chose. Submitting is optional; without an email address we cannot respond.
The newsletter is an interest list, not an active subscription. Email delivery is not enabled. Before newsletter sending starts, we will require email confirmation and provide clear sender details and a working unsubscribe option. Paid subscriptions and payments are not active.
Analytics and abuse protection
Our own analytics record event counts, public page categories, New Zealand date and broad source categories. Queries, fragments, private pages and individual URL identifiers are excluded. They do not record submitted email addresses, message content, raw IP addresses or a persistent visitor profile. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. No analytics cookies or advertising trackers are installed.
Hourly abuse limits use a hashed network identifier. The hash changes with the hour, expires after that rate-limit period and is removed at the next cleanup. Hosting providers may maintain their own security and operational logs.
Who can see your details
Only the site owner can access form records and traffic reports. The polling updater cannot read the contact inbox or signup records. We do not sell contact details, provide them to sponsors or use them to target political advertising.
Hosting and storage use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare Workers/D1. Those providers may process information outside New Zealand. We have not selected or verified a New Zealand-only storage region. How long we keep records
Launch-list and service-interest records are retained for up to 365 days from submission. Unresolved contact requests are retained for up to 365 days; resolved requests are removed 90 days after closure. Aggregate analytics are retained for 90 days. Expired records are removed during the next form, owner-inbox or scheduled-update cleanup. These periods apply to live application records; provider logs and backups have separate retention policies.
Access, corrections and removal
Use the contact form to request access, a correction, removal, or to raise a privacy concern. We may verify that a record belongs to you before disclosing or changing it. A new launch-list entry also provides a private removal link: keep it safe, because anyone holding it can remove that entry. Using the link withdraws the consent stored with that entry.
Duplicate requests do not replace existing records or reveal their private removal links. If you lost a link, contact the owner. Privacy enquiries are handled separately from marketing and do not sign you up for updates.
